Midnight Pact for Sadar Hills
Imphal, the 31st Oct 2011: The indefinite economic blockade called by the SHDDC has been called off following a marathon meeting at the residence of the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh at the stroke of midnight.
The indefinite bandh imposed on Sadar Hills has also been simultaneously called off. The government agreed to upgrade Sadar Hills to the status of a full fledged district after the District Re-organisation Committee submitted its report.
The agreement proposed the bifurcation of Kangpokpi into Champhai and Tujang Vaichong sub-divisions, Saikul to Saikul, Island sub-divisions and Saitu-Gamphazol to Saitu-Gamphazol and Kangchup Geljang. The three newly proposed sub-divisions will be inaugurated within November this year, Office of SDO, Champhai to be located at Kangpokpi temporarily and the State Government to withdraw all legal cases pending against SHDDC leaders.

As this year's Confluence, popularly known as North-East Night is to be held on Nov. 4 at KC, OAT ( Kamla Complex, Open Air Theatre) there will not be a Prayer Meeting on this coming Friday. After a thorough audition for weeks, we have unanimously shortlisted the names of couple for Couple Parade in Traditional costume. They are: Lulun Khongsai and Kimrose Vaiphei; Tongjahao Haokip and D. Cecilia Haokip. Confluence is an annual event organised by the students of the "Seven Sisters" in JNU campus to showcase their unique and diverse traditions and cultures.

As you can see crystal clear, with your naked eye, the tell-tale signs of joy- The smiles of the models outshone the dim 100 watt tube-lights and the sign of 'satisfaction' were writ large on their beaming faces.
We can't thank enough Gl. Ngamboi, Munirka, for his selfless and noble 'helping hand' in converting the designs we had in our mind to shine, glow and beam on the screen of his laptop. Armed with the soft copy of the designs Bro Min, Qai and Thang ventured out in the meandering lands and quaint by lanes of Delhi's flea markets hunting for the tees, in bulk, and for printers who could do justice to our designs.
After battling the scorching sun and cruel, shimmering Delhi's heat, one T-shirt printers and art work, caters to our demand. And in the following week, CH tees made its historic landing in the campus. Mentioned may be made her, that all the sizes available were too big for our petite sister Lhingneo who was combing the stack of packets for a XS tees. But unfortunately, she couldn't laid her 'pulsating' hand on one. Out of sheer helplessness, she just grabbed one M size and going by the onlookers response and stare, she still looked wow!
